Heroic shuts down PUBG division
Scandinavian eSports club Heroic has announced the closure of its PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS division and departure from the discipline. The team's players have become free agents.
As in the case of ENCE, this decision was dictated by recent changes in the structure of the esports component of the game, due to which it is no longer financially feasible for the organization to maintain a PUBG lineup.
Heroic finished 20th in the regional playoff stage of the seventh season of the PUBG Continental Series and did not make the grand final. The team also missed the PUBG Global Championship 2022 in Dubai. In October 2022, Finn Paavo "PaG3" Voutilainen left the team.
Former Heroic lineup
- Luke "TeaBone" Crafer
- Benjamin "Beami" Steffensen
- Timi "curexi" Tenhula
It is with a heavy heart that we announce our departure from PUBG esports. However, after careful consideration and due to the restructuring in the ecosystem, we have determined that continuing to compete in PUBG is no longer sustainable for the organization.
We want to thank our players and staff through the years for their hard work and dedication they showed our organization, and for many chicken dinners together. Almost winning PGC in 2021 is a fond memory that we will cherish. We wish you all the best and your new organizations will be lucky to have you!
We also want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our fans who have supported us throughout this journey. Your support has been invaluable, and we are grateful for each and every one of you.
