PUBG hits 3 million players on Xbox One

Just in four weeks’ time PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox achieved a very impressive milestone: the game is already up to 3+ million players!

Not long ago Aaron Greenberg, Head of Xbox Games Marketing at Microsoft, told us that there is a huge demand for PUBG on Xbox One: the game was and still is in the top five paid games in the official Xbox Store. Although Greenberg did not share any specific stats, he said that PUBG sales on console are «very big». Today PUBG Corp and Microsoft revealed that through the end of 2017, over three million people had bought and played PUBG on the Xbox One! This impressive milestone has been achieved just in four weeks’ time – the game hit the platform exactly one month ago with the Xbox Game Preview program. In the official statement below Greenberg promised that the dev team will continually improve the game through the coming weeks and months.

The team at PUBG Corp. is determined to continue to improve the in-game experience for PUBG’s growing and active community and have already released four updates since the game’s launch in Xbox Game Preview on December 12. You’ll continue to see regular updates roll out for PUBG on Xbox One such as this week’s addition of first-person support for solo, duo, and squads gameplay and the team is just getting started, with more updates planned that include additional game optimization and the new Miramar map – keep up-to-date by visiting PUBG Corp’s official forums.

3 million players is undoubtedly a large number, but PUBG on Xbox clearly can’t compete with PC version of the game, which, according to Steam Spy data, has already more than 27 million players in total!

The recent update for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds on Xbox came out on January 8th – it fixed many bugs and issues, slightly improved the optimization and made some changes to the gameplay. You can read all the details here.
