IEM Oakland will host a PUBG Tournament

It seems it has been ages since Gamescom Invitational

And now we have a new major tournament announced. Here is all you need to know about it.

 Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) is coming to the Bay Area on November 18-19! Witness 20 teams across the weekend battle for $200,000 as teams from NA & EU compete in front of thousands of fans. Join us in Oakland for the most memorable PUBG event of the year!

Tournament

Format

Squad FPP (Team - First person perspective)
20 Team Tournament

 Each team will consist of 4 players. The tournament will feature 8 matches across both days of the event. Each team will be awarded with points based on their finishing position and also by how many kills achieved within each match. The winner of the tournament will be decided by their final ranking after results from all 8 games are played

    The PUBG tournament specific rulebook will be made public soon

    Qualifiers

    10 open positions
    5 NA & 5 EU

    Each region will feature a maximum of 320 team qualifier. 160 teams will be restricted by their MMR (Matchmaking rating) while the other 160 will be open on a first come first served basis.

    • Round 1: 16 Groups of 20 teams (320 Squads)
      Top 5 teams from each game move forward
    • Round 2: 4 groups of 20 teams (80 Squads)
      Top 5 teams from each game move forward
    • Round 3: 1 group of 20 teams (20 Squads)
      Top 5 qualify for IEM Oakland
