Kwangdong Freecs won PWS: EAST ASIA Phase 2. PCS7 Asia participants are set

South Korean team Kwangdong Freecs won the Asian online tournament PUBG WEEKLY SERIES: EAST ASIA Phase 2. In the grand final, the team made 142 kills and scored a total of 233 points in 20 matches.

Kwangdong Freecs won about $67,000 and the 80 PGC qualifying points needed to qualify for the main tournament of the year. The silver medalist, Danawa e-sports, received three times less. DAMWON Gaming and Gen.G Esports finished in the top 4 of the championship. In addition, one of the Kwangdong Freecs, Roh "EEND" Tae-young, was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. He received an additional $3.7 thousand for that.

The tournament also determined the top eight players in Asia (Korea, Taiwan and Japan) for season seven of the PUBG Continental Series: Kwangdong Freecs, Danawa e-sports, DAMWON Gaming, Gen.G Esports, GHIBLI Esports, Baegopa, Global Esports Xsset and Donuts USG.

PWS: EAST ASIA Phase 2 took place from July 20 to August 28. The total prize pool was approximately 146,000 USD.
