Shroud: "I think the best bet for PUBG is to make a PUBG 2"

PUBG was once the most popular battle royale title out there, but it has slowly fallen down the pecking order, and nowadays is somewhat of an afterthought to many gamers – and shroud isn’t completely sold on the idea of the game coming back.

After a viewer asked whether he thinks PUBG will “become popular again” or if it’s “dying out,” shroud gave an honest assessment, and explained the only way he believes the game can get back to the top.

“It’s very unlikely for it to boost back up in viewers and players,” he said. “I’ve been saying this for a while: I think the best bet for PUBG is to make a PUBG 2, or a different game, or something.”

A sequel to PUBG definitely seems an interesting one, but it’s not quite clear how – or why – they would create one.

The implication from shroud is that PUBG in its current state is simply incapable of getting back to the top again.

With so much competition in the battle royale genre, the Mixer star clearly doesn’t think much of the game’s chances, so a new game or, at least, a major overhaul, are the only conceivable ways for PUBG Corp. to get close to the top again.
