Na`Vi to PGI full powered?

The recent changes taken by USK (Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle), the governing body for video game age ratings, lowered the age rating for PUBG PC version from 18 to 16. This would allow Natus Vincere to participate in the main event with the full roster. However they have won the qualifier with Ilame_ru as standing, so this is not 100%.

After the initial audit of PUBG’s Early Access version in July 2017, the game got rated “not suitable for young persons aged under 18”. In May 2018, the USK audited the 1.0 PC version of PUBG and found it to be suitable for young persons aged 16 or older. The XBOX One version, however, is still rated 18+.

The USK defines video games rated 16+ as follows:
“Games approved for children aged 16 and above may include acts of violence. This means that it is also natural for adults to form part of the buyer group. These games frequently feature armed combat, a framework story, and military missions. The genres in this categorization also include Action Adventures, Military Strategy games, and Shooter.”

As a consequence of the initial age rating, different players got restricted from participating in the Gamescom Invitational in late August of 2017. With the revisited age rating both players and visitors, aged 16 or older, will be allowed to take part in the PUBG Global Invitational 2018 as well as different competitions planned during the 2018 iteration of the Gamescom.
